Welding Certificate

Gain the theoretical knowledge and hands-on application necessary to adjoin similar and dissimilar metals, and perform a variety of other tasks associated with welding. Be prepared for entry-level welding positions in manufacturing and industrial firms, construction, fabrication shops, and building/construction trade unions.

Topics Include:

  • Occupational orientation and safety
  • Principles of welding
  • Welding print reading

Fast Track to Certification

Students will attempt one American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 certification on 1" plate on choice of one process option below:

  • Option 1 - GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding/MIG)* or
  • Option 2 - GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding/TIG)* or
  • Option 3 - SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding/Stick) or
  • Option 4 - FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding)

*MIG and TIG options with instructor recommendation

Date: Tuesdays & Thursdays | Mar. 3 - May 28
*No class March 31 & April 2

Time: 5-9 PM

Costs and Requirements

Cost: $4,000 (plus $2 registration fee)
Includes class materials and 1 attempt at chosen certification.
